Font tools — convert TTF to WOFF2 in your browser
A new Font category — convert TTF/OTF fonts to WOFF2 (and back) and inspect any font file, all locally.
WebTricks now has a Font category with two tools.
Font converter
The font converter turns desktop TTF/OTF fonts into WOFF2 — the compressed format the web wants — or unpacks WOFF2 back to TTF. WOFF2 is typically 30–50% smaller thanks to Brotli compression, so your fonts load faster. The conversion runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly; the font never leaves your device.
Font inspector
The font inspector reads a font’s family, style,
weight, glyph count and metrics, and shows a live, editable specimen so you can
type your own text and resize it. Handy for confirming what a mystery font file
actually contains before you wire up an @font-face rule.
Converting to WOFF2 is the first step to self-hosting a font instead of pulling it from a third party — faster, more private, and one fewer connection on your critical path.
